We are praying that GOD will allow us to see 24 souls saved and see 120 in our Sunday School in the coming year.  Please continue to pray daily asking GOD to intervene in this request.

Mission Baptist Church Second Baptist Church began as a mission of Madisonville First Baptist Church.  The mission was organized as a church on April 20, 1947 as Mission Baptist Church and called Rev. Homer Cartwright as pastor.
Woodson Baptist Church The church voted in 1948 to build a church building on the corner of Gordon and Woodson Avenues and the name was changed to Woodson Avenue Baptist Church.  In February 1949, Rev. W.T. Anderson was called as pastor and the name was changed to Second Baptist Church.
Education Building In May 1959, two acres were purchased as Bishop and Woodson AvenuesIn 1960 a three story Education Building was built.     In 1962, Rev C. B. Coots became pastor and a parsonage was built.  Rev. Coots served until September 1964. 
Groundbreaking Day In 1965, Rev. William Tucker became pastor and in 1966 ground was broken for a Church Sanctuary.  The congregation moved into the new sanctuary in November  1967.

In 1967, Rev William R. Nave became our pastor and served until his death in May 1972.  During the interim, Rev. Jerry Adams led the congregation

In March 1973, Rev. Deryl Watson was called as pastor and served until 1976;  Rev. Tom Bray was pastor from 1976 until 1979.  Rev. Trueman Davis served from 1980 until 1989 and Rev. Brodie Ambrose was pastor from 1989 until 1996.

Rev. Roy Finley, after serving a few months as Interim Pastor, was called as pastor in April 1997 until March 2005.  

Rev. J. D. Holt was called as pastor in October 16, 2005 and serves to the present day.

Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:  To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.   1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
